The cotton satin is a type of fabric characterized by its elegant brilliance, unique softness and durability that makes it a favorable choice for bedding sets. The material is luxury and soft to the touch, while its price range is lower compared to the silk. The cotton satin has many applications, from fashion to home décor, whereas the brilliancy and softness are its main distinguished characteristics. Although it resembles satin to the touch, it’s not a real satin fabric. The difference comes from the threads used in the weaving process–cotton threads in case of cotton satin and silk ones for the production of a real satin. The common between them is the weaving technique and the soft, shiny finish. A highest-end fabric must have a minimum of 220 threads/m2. The higher thread number is one of the basic indicators of the fabric quality.
